Lift-based offshore access system launched

Netherlands-based offshore access system provider Lift2Work has launched a lift-based access solution.

The offshore passenger transfer system unit is targeted at operations in the offshore energy sector – whether oil and gas or wind – such as crew transfer up to 18 m with six people or 24 m with four people, rescue operations at up to 6 m below deck level, load transfer of 2,000 kg or 1,000 kg fully compensated, and FPSO pilotage.

The unit has is housed in a 40 ft by 8 ft high cube container and weighs approximately 15 tonnes. Its footprint can be reduced to 8 ft by 8 ft by using special fasteners. It features full operational logging to indicate maintenance requirements and has a service frequency of six months.

Lift2Work say the system is as an alternative to walk-to-work access systems.
