Vroon PSV takes part in North Sea emissions project

Vroon’s PSV Pool Express has taken part in a project to measure and assess greenhouse-gas and methane emissions in the North Sea.

The PSV supported the Netherlands Oil & Gas Exploration and Production Association project in Q3 this year. As part of the Offshore CH4 Campaign 2018, scientists from independent Netherlands-based research organisation TNO joined representatives from Total Exploration and Production Netherlands and Dutch energy research centre ECN on Pool Express to carry out a 3-day sampling process.

The results of the sampling will be used in an analysis report on the atmospheric quality at specific Dutch oil and gas platform locations.

Pool Express was built in 2008 by Damen for Vroon and has since been on charter with Peterson’s Southern North Sea Pool logistics programme. The vessel measures 71.85 m in length by 16 m in breadth and has a maximum draught of 6.10 m. It has a diesel electric engine, 620-m2 clear deck and underdeck methanol capacity.
