ROVOP acquires M2 Subsea’s 28-strong ROV fleet

ROVOP acquires M2 Subsea’s 28-strong ROV fleet

Aberdeen-based remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operator ROVOP has purchased M2 Subsea’s entire fleet of 28 ROV systems.

ROVOP has carried out a technical review of the acquired systems, following which 19 will be retained and added to its own fleet, with the remaining systems to be either decommissioned or sold.

Following the acquisition, ROVOP has a 51-strong fleet, comprising 34 hydraulic systems and 17 electric systems.

ROVOP said the expansion of its fleet strengthens its deployment capabilities worldwide, with a particular focus on Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. Chief executive Steven Gray said “The addition of these ROV systems to the fleet will enable ROVOP to better support customers with the appropriate ROVs for their requirements based on capability and greater cost efficiency.”
